Career Specialties

Jiaojing Ding is an applied microeconomist whose research lies at the intersection of environmental economics, labor economics and health economics. Her work examines how public policies affect pollution, housing markets, national security and broader social well-being.

Professional and Community Activities

Ding’s research includes work on clean energy policy, environmental regulation and housing markets, natural disasters and green technology adoption and health-related decision-making. For example, her recent article in the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization examines how access to air-quality information influenced smoking cessation in China. Before entering academia, she worked as a senior risk manager at a commercial bank, specializing in energy-sector portfolio management and bringing practical experience in energy markets and policy analysis to her academic career.

Ding regularly presents her research at academic conferences, seminars and workshops. She contributes as a journal referee, conference abstract reviewer, session chair, discussant and conference organizer. She also advises students on research and career planning. Ding is a Scholar with the Climate Social Science Network at Brown University and a Research Affiliate with the Benson-Bertsch Center for International Trade and Security at the University of Georgia.
