Buyer Behavior
Hayam Alnakhli's academic interests center on professional selling and sales management. Her research examines adaptive selling, salesperson performance, salesperson-manager relationships, value co-creation, sales technology and social selling, pedagogy and the recruitment and retention of emerging sales talent.
Alnakhli’s recent research includes work on Gen Z sales talent fit, sales team value co-creation and agility, social-selling-induced technostress, adaptive selling, salesperson self-leadership, inclusive leadership and salesperson-manager relationships.
Her professional activities emphasize experiential and career-connected education. She has directed university sales programs, coached students for national sales competitions, partnered with corporate professionals and recruiters, and mentored students in professional selling and career readiness. She developed the PAIR instructional framework, which integrates persona research, AI-assisted insight generation, visual mapping and role-play to strengthen buyer-centered communication. She also serves as a peer reviewer for academic journals and conferences in marketing and professional selling. She has also served as an external consultant for the Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia.
As part of her public scholarship and community outreach, Alnakhli creates research-informed career-development content for Arabic-speaking professionals, translating academic and workplace insights into practical guidance on professional growth, leadership, personal branding and career strategy.
