SALUTE is the first national academic honor society established for student veterans and active military in institutions of higher education. SALUTE is an acronym of the foundational blocks and core values of the honor society: service, academics, leadership, unity, tribute and excellence.

Why SALUTE?

SALUTE provides formal recognition for service and academics, leadership, volunteering and resume development, campus-community engagement and opportunities to network with as well as give and receive assistance to fellow veterans. SALUTE membership also affords eligibility for SALUTE scholarships, authorization to wear a stole of distinguishment at graduation, letters of recommendation, federal hiring preference with honors merit and more.

The purpose of the program is to provide financial assistance while recognizing students who exemplify the core SALUTE values of Service, Academics, Leadership, Unity, Tribute and Excellence.

Scholarship funds may be applied toward educational expenses. Please note that for students receiving federal financial aid, scholarship awards may impact institutional aid packages for the spring term.
