Business Data Mining Methods
This course focuses on data mining methods for business decision-making and competitive strategy through the combination of data, statistical and quantitative analysis and explanatory and predictive models to generate data-driven business insight.
ITM 376
Programming for Analytics: ML and AI
This course equips students with practical skills in utilizing a modern programming language to enhance business analytics processes, ultimately improving decision-making. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) through machine learning (ML), students will explore foundational algorithms to deepen their understanding and refine decision-making capabilities.
QMB 460
Business Forecasting Analytics
This course is an introduction to technical and managerial implications of business forecasting analytics. Topics include, but are not limited to, moving-average, exponential smoothing, seasonal, trend, causal, time-series decomposition and ARIMA models. Students will illustrate all modeling techniques using a software to select the appropriate model for forecasting real-world business data.

Data Visualization
Through hands-on projects, students will explore best practices for designing effective visualizations, including charts, graphs, maps and dashboards, using both static and interactive tools. The course will cover visual encoding, storytelling with data, and critical evaluation of visualizations in terms of clarity, accuracy and aesthetics.

What are the admissions requirements?
Students interested in pursuing a Business Analytics major must first meet University of Tampa's undergraduate admission requirements and declare a major within the Sykes College of Business. Students are expected to complete the College of Business foundational coursework, maintain the required GPA for progression into upper-level business courses and satisfy all prerequisite and residency requirements established by the college. Students should consult their academic advisor to ensure they remain on track for degree completion.
