UT’s Spring Dance Happening Happens April 27–29

The always popular spring Dance Happening will take place April 27–29 at The University of Tampa, featuring popular music and student dancers from all parts of the University community. The show begins at 8 p.m. in UT’s Falk Theater on Kennedy Boulevard opposite campus and is free and open to the public.

Dance Happening will feature choreography by UT students in a range of dance styles, including hip hop, tap, modern, lyrical and jazz, with 70 students participating.

“Everyone will find something that they can really enjoy in this show,” said junior choreographer Cara Hazel, who is majoring in applied dance and psychology. “We are really applying what we are learning in our pedagogy classes to our creative work. I think this is some of the best student work ever!”

“The Dance Happening is a transformative experience for many of our students, both choreographers and dancers,” said Susannah LeMarquand, UT assistant professor of dance and director of the Dance Happening. “They work together to bring an abstract concept into realty on the stage. Magic happens!”

The Dance Happening is free, but arrive early for the best seats. For more information, call (813) 257-3745.
