Kona Grill Supports UT with the “Spartan Roll”

Kona Grill, a restaurant located near the International Plaza in west Tampa, will unveil the “Spartan Roll” at an event on Thursday, Nov. 11.

While the contents of the new Spartan Roll remain a closely guarded secret until its unveiling at the event, it is known that the partnership between UT and Kona Grill will benefit UT and the entrepreneurship program. Kona Grill will donate to UT a portion of the proceeds of each Spartan Roll sold. Also, Kona Grill will work closely with the UT entrepreneurship program.

“We’re excited to partner with Kona Grill in a way that benefits the University and our entrepreneurship program, and which is clever and appetizing,” said Frank Ghannadian, dean of the UT Sykes College of Business. “We hope the Spartan Roll will become Tampa’s most popular sushi roll.”

The Nov. 11 event will also celebrate the restaurant’s one-year anniversary in Tampa and will include live music, body sushi and award-winning menu items. The event will run from 6-10 p.m. at 4134 W. Boy Scout Blvd. More information and tickets to the event may be obtained at tickets@konagrill.com.
