A nod to our roots

Plant Hall, a Defining Feature in The Tampa Skyline

We’ve grown a lot since our start, but Plant Hall, once known as  The Tampa Bay Hotel, is the oldest building on campus. It first opened in 1891, and is the only hotel once owned by Henry B. Plant that is still standing. Its intricate domes, known as minarets, stand tall atop the building, which houses University of  Tampa spaces and The Plant Museum — both a cherished piece of our campus and  Tampa history.
