Career Specialties

Sarah Wilson specializes in molecular biology. Wilson's dissertation and post-doctoral research was focused on the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) signal transduction pathway that is activated upon exposure to TCDD, a persistent environmental contaminant. Prior to her work on AHR signaling, Wilson worked in a neuroscience research facility that specialized in high-throughput techniques to study the genomic and proteomic profiles associated with Alzheimer's disease, Tourette syndrome and traumatic head injury. She is currently engaged in molecular research in collaboration with departmental colleagues.

Professional and Community Activities

Outside of teaching and research, Wilson participates in science outreach with local public schools. Wilson is also an active member of the National Association for Biology Teachers (NABT).
