Career Specialties

Nathan Scharf’s teaching interests involve the application of biochemistry to disease and medicine. He is interested in having students think about the applications of what they are learning and the implications when biochemical processes are altered.

Professional and Community Activities

Scharf has published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of antibiotics and drug discovery. He is interested in implementing active learning styles of teaching in the classroom to supplement students with the traditional lecture-based instruction.
