Eric Odgaard is a biostatistician. He studies the theory and practice of data analysis, and works as a statistician and methodologist (especially with health and biology professionals). He has also studied cross-modal interactions, including synesthesia.
As a biostatistician, Odgaard wears many scholarly hats. He recently published a paper on reporting of effect sizes, associated confidence intervals and clinical significance in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, which the editors have chosen as required reading for prospective authors. Other recent publications include the relationship between political ideology and moral reasoning judgments, and the reproductive habits of loggerhead sea turtles. He also has several publications on the interaction of vision and hearing, including papers on synesthesia. He routinely serves as a statistical and methodological consultant for the Department of Veterans Affairs, and has assisted local health care professionals with statistical analyses. He supports local high school and community theater, even taking a turn on stage in Masque Community Theatre's recent production of Footloose.
