Speros Margetis' academic interests focus on private equity, investment banking, valuation, and mergers and acquisitions.

Professional and Community Activities

Professor Margetis is actively involved with the Alliance of Mergers and Acquisition Advisors and has developed a partnership leading to internship and employment opportunities for University of Tampa students. Margetis participates with the Florida Venture Forum to provide research on private equity investments along with merger and acquisition activity in Florida. Margetis is the faculty advisor for the Student Investment Banking Society which provides free financial consulting services to startups in our community. Margetis serves on the Board of Directors for the Link Foundation which provides fellowships for doctoral students in simulation, ocean engineering and energy.

Margetis most recent research includes analysis of the choice between types of private equity for startups, preparing startups to raise private equity, and the due diligence required by private equity investors.
