Career Specialties

Ana Maia is a higher-education scholar-practitioner with over 13 years of experience leveraging data-driven strategies, designing intentional leadership programs, empowering teams and fostering DEI initiatives. Maia is committed to researching best practices and fostering intentional, well-rounded experiences for all students. Program effectiveness and leadership development are at the forefront of her career. Her research and professional development focus on culturally relevant leadership learning and student leadership development for positive social change. She serves as the chair of the Student Affairs Strategic Planning and Assessment Team. As a relational leader, Maia's vision is to empower professionals to create sustainable, positive change and enhance the sense of belonging at UT.

Professional and Community Activities

Maia is has been an active member in ACPA–College Student Educators International serving as the leadership education chair in the Commission for Student Involvement for three years. She serves as Adjunct Faculty in the College of Business teaching in the Leadership Studies Minor. She was also on the planning team for the Leadership Educators Symposium and the and the Leadership Educators Insititute.
