Career Specialties

Amanda López-Hernández is a forensic scientist specializing in comparative disciples, specifically fingerprint analysis and comparisons. Transitioning to academia after a seven-year tenure as a crime laboratory analyst for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in Tampa.

Professional and Community Activities

Throughout her career at FDLE, López-Hernández has served the communities of the state of Florida conducting scientific investigations and contributing to the successful resolution of numerous criminal cases. While at FDLE, she also provided training to external agencies, participated in forensic science symposiums and taught at UT as an adjunct professor.

López-Hernández also served as a board member for the Florida Public Service Association, a nonprofit student-led organization dedicated to providing training and education in the skills needed for a career in public service.
