Ru-Shiun Liou's research focuses on emerging-market firms' cross-border mergers and acquisitions, cross-cultural management and global sustainability. Armed with several years of industrial experience working in retailing and consulting, she is passionate about applying management theories to study international business activities and sharing research findings with her students.
Professional and Community Activities
Liou has been an active contributor to discovery scholarship in top-tier academic journals, including the Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, International Business Review and Journal of Business Research, among others. In the past decade, she has published over 20 papers on the topics of emerging market firms' managers and acquisitions, cross-cultural management and global sustainability. She also contributed to the professional community by serving in various leadership roles, such as the editorial review board, and conference track chair at the Academy of International Business-Southeast Chapter.
Furthermore, Liou led various sustainability projects on campus and in the Tampa Bay community. She has assisted in organizing the annual Earth Week events and designed a sustainability-themed experiential learning project in the Principles of Management course, in which student teams identified sustainability issues and implemented practical solutions, such as social media campaigns and digital transformation.
