Sustainable Development Goals
Ru-Shiun Liou's research focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, cross-cultural management and global sustainability of emerging-market firms. In particular, she investigates how geopolitical risks affect multinational corporations' business activities and their contribution to sustainable development goals.
Liou is an accomplished scholar who has made significant contributions to the field of discovery scholarship. Her work has been published in top-tier academic journals such as the Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, International Business Review and Journal of Business Research, among others. Over the past decade, she has authored more than 20 papers on various topics including emerging market firms' managers and acquisitions, cross-cultural management and global sustainability. Additionally, Liou has served in various leadership roles within the professional community, including the editorial review board and executive board at the Academy of International Business-Southeast Chapter.
Apart from her scholarly accomplishments, Liou has also led various sustainability initiatives on campus and in the Tampa Bay community. She played a key role in organizing the annual Earth Week events and designed an experiential learning project on sustainability, incorporated in the Principles of Management course. The project involved student teams identifying sustainability issues and implementing practical solutions, such as social media campaigns and digital transformation.
