Fraser Houston has an extensive background instructing human anatomy and physiology courses at both the university and state college levels. His teaching philosophy aims to develop students' critical thinking and application skills while instilling a passion for the science of the human body. In addition to undergraduate teaching, Houston is a course director for the Applied Human Anatomy and Physiology and Applied Human Anatomy Lab courses in the Physician Assistant Medicine program at UT.
In addition to anatomy and physiology, Houston’s academic and research interests include physiological adaptations to exercise and disuse. His undergraduate and graduate degrees are in sport science and exercise physiology. Houston has published his research in the Journal of Applied Physiology and the European Journal of Sport Science. He is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society.
