Arthur Hollist's interest in African literature encompasses published literary fiction (particularly post-Colonial fiction), popular fiction, theatrical and oral storytelling traditions.
Hollist is deeply involved in furthering business and cultural relations between Africa and America. As a member of the United States and Africa Free Enterprise Foundation, he developed an interactive, multimedia, critical thinking model for teaching about Africa and authored a pamphlet on the dos and don'ts of doing business in Africa.
He spent two years speaking about Africa on behalf of the Florida Humanitarian Council. He is working on a novel exploring relations between Africans, African-Americans and Caribbeans.
