Career Specialties

Civil specializes in elementary and secondary teacher preparation course instruction and field experiences. Her passion is preparing up-and-coming educators through the clinical application of instructional methods and strategies of effective teachers. 

Professional and Community Activities

Civil is active in the partnership between higher education teacher preparation programming and local K-12 schools.  She mentors senior education students and oversees secondary senior practicums. A passion for student advocacy and mentorship within education communities allows Civil to mentor each teacher candidate in the transition from to a professional in the field of teaching. Civil's research and publications most recently focus on educator disposition, the inequalities of evaluation for new teachers, and teacher retention. When not teaching University courses on campus, you can find Civil visiting local schools to mentor teacher candidates and attending athletic and other special events on campus Civil is a proud University of Tampa alumna 1998-2002.
