Broadly speaking, Canger's interests lie in the area of Talent in Organizations -- including assessment, selection/acquisition, onboarding, engagement, performance management, development and leadership. 

Professional and Community Activities

For the past few years Canger has been focused on the application of talent research to the challenges of start-ups, entrepreneurs, and VC- and PE-backed companies.  He currently serves on several advisory boards involved with leadership and entrepreneurship, including the Center for Leadership here at UT, and part of an ongoing research study investigating issues of women in leadership. He is active in the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, where he serves on the conference committee. Canger also is a member of other professional organizations including the Private Directors Association, the society for Human Resources Management, and the Association for Psychological Science.
