Career Specialties

Robert Beekman's publications and research have primarily focused on experimental and environmental economics. His research interests have included international trade, distributional effects of public policy and consumer response to risk information. 

Professional and Community Activities

Prior to his arrival at the University, Robert Beekman worked as an economist for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. During this time, he prepared economic, regulatory and market analyses for many projects, including an assessment of the social costs and benefits of EPA programs. He has also worked as a private consultant and as an assistant vice president for NCNB National Bank of Florida.
