Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. ITS is continuously upgrading, enhancing and expanding wireless connectivity.

• Wi-Fi networks: UoT_Students and UoT_Guest
• Please use the UoT_Students. It is the fastest connection utilizing secure encryption.
• Connect your gaming consoles, smart TVs, and other devices using UoT_Guest after registering them in the My Devices Portal.
  • While on the UoT_Students network access the MyDevices Portal to register your entertainment device. Use the How do I register my smart tv and gaming devices? for step-by-step instructions.
• Login Information:
  • Login using: MyUTampa and Password
  • Example: Firstname.Lastname and Password

Wi-Fi printers are not compatible with our network, but web printing to UT computers is available to students. Web Print Release Stations are available to students in many locations.

• Visit: spartanprint.ut.edu to access the Student Printing Portal. You can use the portal to:
  • Check your balance.
  • View your most recent print jobs.
  • Add additional funds.
• You will be able to upload files you need to print, then go to the release stations, swipe your ID card and the document(s) will print.

• Students receive thirty (30) University-provided printing credits per semester to use.
  • The unused University-provided printing credits do not accrue or rollover each semester.
  • At the beginning of each semester, the account resets to 30 printing credits.
• If you deplete the UT-provided printing credits you can elect to add additional funds to your Papercut account. Use this How to Add Funds to My Papercut Account to learn how.

Note: The University-provided thirty (30) credits are not actual cash funds, therefore any unused University-provided credits are not refundable.

Microsoft Office 365 is available for you to install on up to five personal devices. Use MyUTampa to select Office 365 and follow the Install Office instructions.

• Please review the How to Install Office 365 as a UT Student.

A few tips: Protect your data while using the "Anyone with the Link" sharing setting.

• Use View only permissions, by unchecking the allow editing
• Set a password, and send it separately to those with who you are sharing the document with
• Consider toggling the block download option
• Links will have a 120-day automatic expiration

Dropbox provides a platform to share files or folders with others, including the ability to allow others to view and edit content.

A few tips:

• Recipients do not need to have a Dropbox account or be a part of UT to view and download content from your shared link.
• Recipients do need a Dropbox account to view/download the content being shared. The files/folders will appear under their shared content area in Dropbox.

Sharing Documents using OneDrive

Using OneDrive, you can share Office documents, other files and entire folders. Please see the tips below to show you how. You can stop sharing an item, see who it's shared with or change the permissions of items you have shared.

Access SpartanLearn (powered by Canvas) is via MyUTampa. Courses are listed after selecting SpartanLearn. Click on the course link to view the course content.

A few tips:

• Visit the Academic Solutions page for Students to learn how to get started with SpartanLearn (powered by Canvas).
• Please be aware that your courses may not be available before the start of the semester. Each faculty member will enable your access when they’re ready to view the course content.

Your role in protecting critical personal and university security is essential. Access KnowBe4 via MyUTampa to complete this free information security training!

A few tips:

• Do not assume all emails are safe and do not reveal personal details.
• Beware of sites that offer a reward in exchange for your contact and/or personal information.
• Attachments with embedded links can be security risks.
• If something seems unusual or you are uncertain, contact ITS via the Service Desk or email infosec@ut.edu.

Workday is an innovative, cloud-based, mobile-friendly student information system. The system provides a significant amount of student self-service functionality. Use the Academics area in Workday to view academic progress, view class schedule, and plan and register for classes. You can also find your academic advisor, use the Workday inbox to view and clear any holds, and much more.

A few tips:

• Select the Workday Help icon in Workday to access helpful how-to guides and tutorial videos.

VidGrid is a video platform available to students to easily record, share, edit and manage videos in the cloud within one app. Students may access VidGrid via MyUTampa.

Zoom is a video communications tool that can be used for video and audio conferencing, chat and webinars.

A few tips:

• Getting Started with Zoom
• Anyone can join a Zoom but only a host can schedule one.
• After launching Zoom via MyUTampa, on the bottom left are View Tutorials to learn more about Zoom. It is best to access Zoom via MyUTampa to avoid additional login prompts and steps.

Zoom Tip: Keep your Zoom Software Up-to-date

• When prompted, always run updates from Zoom as they may contain important security items.
• To take advantage of new features in Zoom, update your software often

Avoid Zoom Bombing - Security Tips:

• Never use your meeting ID
• Always use a meeting password
• Use Zoom's waiting room feature
• Mute audio and disable video for meeting attendees (optional)
• Turn off screen sharing for everyone but the meeting host/co-host

Helpful Tips for Students’ Success Online:

• Make sure you’re muted when not talking
• Be yourself and respect others
• Ask questions using chat
• Use reactions to engage with your class
• Think before you write
• Utilize the raise your hand feature if wanting to ask a question live
• Set up an intentional space where the class is going to happen
