As incoming students, UTampa 101 and 102, 103 (Transfer students), or 104 (Veteran students) must attend Microsoft sessions to enhance digital literacy using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Below are some tips to get started.
- Register through the ADLC event calendar.
- Important! Access the cloud-based Microsoft O365 through MyUTampa. Follow these instructions to access the online Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- After each training session, your exams are based on the cloud-based Microsoft O365 Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Students are allowed two attempts on each quiz.
- A recent version of Windows (Windows 10 or 11 is recommended) with the latest system updates and at least 8 GB of RAM
- Need a laptop? Check one out at the front desk of the Macdonald-Kelce Library or use a Campus Computer Lab to complete the training and your assessments.
- Access the sample files for the Word and PowerPoint sessions through This Dropbox link. Ensure that you are logged into MyUTampa first. Then, use your Spartans email address in the “work email” section to gain entry to the files.
Before Joining the Word, Excel and PowerPoint Training:
- Audio: If attendees are joining the audio conference individually, we strongly recommend using a computer headset or a phone with a wired headset to avoid running low on battery power during class.
- Second Monitor: Each attendee (or the group as a whole) should ideally have a second screen to watch the instructor’s screen and work on their screen simultaneously. There are a few possible ways to achieve this. One of those ways is to visit the Advanced Digital Literacy Center (ADLC).
- Visit the ADLC: The UT team will set up the audio and display the session on a screen, so you do not need a second monitor.
- Use the KnowBe4 Security Awareness icon, available in MyUTampa.
- Complete three (3) mandatory courses designed to enhance your security awareness knowledge and safe computing practices. The courses are:
- Acceptable User Policy
- 10 Ways to Avoid Phishing Scams
- Social Media
