The following are the answers to frequently asked questions about academic exploration advising.
The Academic Exploration Program is within the Academic Success Center (second floor of the Technology Building). Our hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m (summer hours are Monday through Thursday 8 a.m to 5:30 p.m.). Please email advising@ut.edu or call (813) 257-5757 to make an appointment.
The exploration specialist is housed in the Academic Success Center (TECH 2nd Floor). Hours of operation during the academic year are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Congratulations! When you are ready to declare or change your major, you need to complete a Change of Major/Minor form in the Academic Success Center (ASC). If you are not currently enrolled in either a BAC or Pathways to Honors course, it is recommended that you also change your faculty advisor to an advisor within your new major.
The Office of Career Services is a great resource available to assist you with exploring career options. Through the assistant director of Career Exploration, students can take a variety of assessments to explore their interests, skills, values and personality. Students can also elect to enroll in Career Decision-Making (CAR 201), a one-credit elective, where students delve further into the process of career decision-making. Other services provided to students include networking events, informational workshops, resume building and internship and job search assistance.
