Department of Psychology

The psychology department provides a strong liberal arts background in contemporary psychological theory and research. Students are offered a high-quality educational experience in psychology as a behavioral, cognitive, social science and applied discipline.

All psychology majors complete a set of foundation courses that teach the history and breadth of the field. For further exploration in a particular area, students can select one of five concentrations: cognitive, social, clinical, organizational or biopsychology. Mission Statement

The mission of the psychology department is to enable students to think scientifically about human behavior, appreciate the diversity of human behavior and experience, and pursue a variety of post-graduate career options.
