Career Specialties

Heather Spiegel's primary responsibility is to the health and well-being of the students at the University. She manages and treats acute illnesses, counsels on sexual health and contraception, and performs well-woman exams as needed. Spiegel has worked in college health for more than eight years and brings that experience and expertise to her role in the clinic.

She has experience in women's health, sexual health, acute care and family medicine. Spiegel has had three scholarly articles published in nursing journals on the topics of asthma management, sepsis and aortic aneurysms, and she has had the honor of being a guest speaker at several nursing conferences on those topics. She also enjoys working with student nurse practitioners in their clinical rotations.

Spiegel previously worked as a family nurse practitioner in Student Health Services at Kean University, an adjunct nursing instructor with the Nurse Practitioner Program at Monmouth University, a family nurse practitioner in a retail medical clinic and as a registered nurse in trauma intensive care at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
