Minor in Spanish
The Minor in Spanish program
helps prepare students for graduate or professional schools and for a
variety of career opportunities. Courses are designed to build strong
language skills and to expand cultural awareness.
In addition
to class work, students acquire language skills through individualized
learning and research projects with professors, field experiences,
campus programs, internships and study abroad opportunities.
24 semester hours of credit at 200 level or higher are required for a
Spanish minor. SPA 250/251 may not be counted toward the minor.
Students are encouraged to participate in international study and travel experiences.
Opportunities include summer study programs in Spain, travel-study
courses to countries such as Costa Rica, semester- and year-long programs in Mexico and other countries, as well as numerous other study
abroad options.
