UT Students to Present Traveling Dance Performance Oct. 24-27

More than 100 students are ready to show off their dance moves at the Fall Dance Happening at The University of Tampa Oct. 24-27 at 8 p.m. The event will begin at Falk Theatre on Kennedy Boulevard opposite campus, then move to the East Verandah of Plant Hall for the remainder of the show.

A crowd favorite at UT, the Dance Happening is open to all students at UT, not just dance majors. Highlights of this year’s program include a Halloween-inspired tap piece, an original musical composition by senior music major Gordon Bonnett ’13 and the re-creation of an ancient traditional African dance by junior biochemistry and writing double-major Natalie Osayande ’14. Other dance styles to be featured include ballet, hip hop, modern, lyrical and jazz.

“The Dance Happening is simply one of the most unique and exciting performance events you'll experience on a university campus,” said Susannah LeMarquand ’01, director of the UT Dance Happening and a former UT dancer. “The range of work presented offers something for everyone.”
