UT Presents Interactive Murder Mystery, Drood, Nov. 15-18

Make plans for an evening of musical mayhem and mirth as The University of Tampa presents Drood: The Mystery of Edwin Drood, the Tony award-winning musical by Rupert Holmes. Show times are 8 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 15–17, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18. All performances will be in Falk Theatre, located at 428 W. Kennedy Blvd.

Loosely based on the unfinished literary work of the same name by Charles Dickens, the mystery is retold by the acting troupe of the Music Hall Royale under the supervision of its chairman, who acts as narrator for the evening’s festivities. He introduces the characters and the plot begins to unfold. Just when the killer is about to be revealed, however, the show comes to a stop, as Dickens never finished the story. The audience must vote for who they think the culprit is.

The production features a cast of more than 20 students under the direction of Michael Staczar, associate professor of theatre, and the musical direction of Tara Richards Swartzbaugh The scenic and lighting design is by Alex Amyot, with costume design provided by Frank Chavez.

Admission is free for UT students, faculty and staff. General admission tickets are $15, senior citizens and non-UT students may purchase tickets for $10. For more information, call (813) 253-3987.
