UT Film Series Features “Translation” Theme

The University of Tampa will host a film series, called “Re/Frame,” that will run throughout the academic year, and will be devoted to the theme of “translation.”

The series will show six films – selected by UT faculty – on campus. Each film screening includes an introduction to the film by a faculty member, as well as a Q-and-A after the film to further explore the theme.

All films, which are free and open to the public, will be shown at locations on campus. The films being shown include:

  • Lost in Translation, Sept. 23, 2019, 6 p.m., Reeves Theater;
  • Pontypool, 28, 2019, 6 p.m., Reeves Theater;
  • Brick, 18, 2019, 6 p.m., Reeves Theater;
  • La Haine, Feb. 10, 2020, 6 p.m., Black Box Theater, Cass Building;
  • Arrival, March 23, 2020, 6 p.m. Reeves Theater; and
  • Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, April 20, 2020, 6 p.m., Reeves Theater.

The film series is supported by the departments of Film, Animation and New Media, and English and Writing.
