Ticheli Headlines 5th Annual Composer Festival March 6-7

A composer festival featuring the music of Frank Ticheli, professor of composition at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, will be held on March 6-7 at The University of Tampa.

Events that are free and open to the public include:
  • Wednesday, March 6, 4 p.m., Falk Theatre. Open rehearsal with the UT Chamber Singers, conducted by Frank Ticheli.
  • Thursday, March 7, 7:30 p.m., Falk Theatre 5th Annual Composer Festival Concert featuring Ticheli. Ensembles performing include the UT Wind Ensemble, Orchestra and Chamber Singers.
An internationally known composer, Ticheli’s orchestral works have been performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Dallas Symphony, American Composers Orchestra and other orchestras from across the U.S. and around the world. He is also well known for his works for concert band, many of which have become standards in the repertoire. From 1991-1998, he was composer in residence of the Pacific Symphony.

This is the fifth annual composer festival at UT, and is sponsored by the UT Department of Music in the College of Arts and Letters.
