Tampa Brass to Give Concert Sept. 30

The University of Tampa will present an evening fit for brass music lovers when the Tampa Brass gives a concert on Monday, Sept. 30. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. Parking is available on campus.

The concert will feature British composer John Addison’s Bagatelles for Brass Quintet, which reflects his long-time involvement in composing for film and television, and French composer Eugene Bozza’s Suite Francaise, which is characteristically light and technically demanding. Also on the program are works by Anderson, Isele, Copland, Maurer and Omelchenko.

The Tampa Brass was established at UT in 1997. Performers include Aric Brian, trumpet; Perry Landmeyer, trumpet; Richard Sparrow, horn; Brad Williams, trombone; and Jeffrey Traster, tuba. Brian, Sparrow, Williams and Traster comprise the brass faculty of the UT Department of Music.
