Heads of C1 Bank, Premier Eye Care and Tucker/Hall to Speak at April 8 BNS

Three leaders in the financial services, managed eye care and public relations industries will share their expertise at the final Business Network Symposium of the 2013-2014 academic year on Tuesday, April 8, at The University of Tampa.

The event begins with a continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m., and the program runs from 7:45–9 a.m. The symposium will be held in the Vaughn Center Crescent Club and is free and open to the public.

The three speakers are Trevor Burgess, CEO of C1 Bank and C1 Financial; Lorna Taylor, president and CEO of Premier Eye Care; and Tom Hall, chairman of Tucker/Hall.

Burgess was recognized as the 2013 Florida Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the financial services category. He spent 10 years at Morgan Stanley as an investment banker, working in New York, Los Angeles and London and raising more than $50 billion for his clients.

Taylor was the winner of the 2013 Tampa Bay Business Journal Business Woman of the Year award in the health and wellness category and also received Angie’s Award, given to the finalist who best exemplified commitment to community service. Premier Eye Care was recognized as one of “Florida’s Best Companies to Work For” by Florida Trend magazine.

Hall heads up one of the leading public relations firms in the Southeast and previously built and sold two other companies. He is also the author of Ruthless Focus: How to use key core strategies to grow your business. A leader in the Tampa Bay community, Hall led the effort to build the Florida Aquarium and named Harbour Island, the Channel District and Channelside Drive.

The event is hosted by The University of Tampa Board of Fellows, and the presenting sponsor is LCG. Other sponsors include the Tampa Bay Business Journal and Sodexo Campus Services.

The Board of Fellows holds this networking event three times a year to allow businesses that are well known, changing or new to the Tampa Bay area the opportunity to share their accomplishments and plans with the business community.
