Concert Artist Series Features Music of César Franck on April 7

The 2012-2013 Concert Artist Series in the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values will wrap up on Sunday, April 7, with “The Music of César Franck.” There will be a preconcert talk at 1:15 p.m., and the concert begins at 2 p.m.

The performers include Haig Mardirosian, organist and dean of the College of Arts and Letters; Lei Liu, violinist and instructor of violin; Grigorios Zamparas, pianist and assistant professor of music; and the UT Chamber Choir, conducted by Ryan Hebert, assistant professor of music and director of choral studies.

The program focuses on several of Franck’s monumental works, including the Grande Pièce Symphonique for organ, Violin Sonata and Psalm 150 for choir and organ.

The concert is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Doors open 30 minutes before the preconcert talk.
