Stop by The University of Tampa on Saturday, Feb. 13, for a recital by soprano Perri Montané. The performance begins at 2 p.m. in the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values and is free and open to the public.
Accompanied by pianist Shawn Brown, Montané will perform works in German, French, Spanish and English by a variety of composers, including Strauss, Mahler, Poulenc, Falla and Hammerstein.
Montané, a member of UT’s voice faculty, has performed opera roles with a number of opera companies, including Lyric Opera of Chicago, Tacoma Opera and Atlanta Lyric Theatre. She has appeared as a soloist with the Ludwig Symphony, Mansfield Symphony Orchestra and Central Florida Symphony Orchestra, among others.
She was district winner in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, national third prize winner in the National Association of Teacher Artists Awards recital competition and first prize winner in the Capitol City Opera’s Vocal Competition.
Montané received a bachelor’s in vocal performance from Ohio University and a master’s in vocal performance from New England Conservatory of Music.
