The University of Tampa will host two workshops devoted to experiential learning in higher education: “Fundamentals of Experiential Education” and “Identifying, Understanding and Applying Outcomes Assessment in Experiential Learning.”
The workshops will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, and are coordinated through the Experiential Education Academy of the National Society for Experiential Education (NSEE).
Speakers include Al Cabral, retired associate professor of management and director of internships for Nazareth College Rochester, and James Colbert, assistant vice president for academic affairs and director of the EYE (Experience Your Education) program at Lander University-Greenwood (SC).
The workshops will take place in Brevard Community Room on the UT campus.
For a description of the workshops, online registration or to learn more about NSEE, email

The goals of the NSEE Academy are to provide to NSEE members a foundation in standard theory and practice of experiential education; support practitioners new to experiential education so that their programs will meet the standards of best practice identified by NSEE; facilitate new member access to the expertise and knowledge of senior members; and provide all members with competencies that will lead to the strengthening of experiential education within institutions.
UT is one of NSEE’s strategic partners, due to UT’s long-standing and deep commitment to providing students with an exceptional academic experience rooted in experiential education.
