UT Students Win National Accounting Competition

A team of University of Tampa students took first place in a national Beta Alpha Psi Best Practice Competition, which was held at the Beta Alpha Psi national conference in Brooklyn, NY on August 6-8.

Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for financial information students and professionals.

The five students competed in a section focusing on chapter sustainability. The UT team had won the regional Beta Alpha Psi competition in Nashville, TN last winter and were invited to compete against the winners of seven other regions from around the country. UT topped teams from New York University and the University of Oregon, among others.

The UT team, which met several times a week throughout the summer to prepare, included Nick Williams, Andrew Argue, Michael Buckland, Jingming Ma and Kayla Adams.

The competition was sponsored by Deloitte LLP.
