UT Students Gain Hands-on Experience
UT students took their learning experiences outside the classroom and interned at various Tampa Bay businesses and nonprofits. UT senior Lauren Ridder spent her summer at the Tampa Bay Watch. Her internship provided an opportunity to connect both her interests in teaching and science.

Marine science and chemistry major Michael Keenan '13 interned in the herpetology and aquatics department at the Lowry Park Zoo while biology/pre-med major Anglea Sollitto '12 shadowed a nurse practitioner at the Locicero Medical Group. Both students said their internships helped relate their classroom studies to real-world experiences.
