For the second year in a row Charity Navigator has awarded The
University of Tampa with a 4-star rating — the highest a charity can
receive — for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances.
Charity
Navigator, which bills itself as America's premier charity evaluator,
highlights the work of charities and provides donors with essential
information needed to give them greater confidence in the charitable
choices they make.
According to Ken Berger, president and CEO of
Charity Navigator, 21 percent of the charities they evaluate have
received consecutive 4-star ratings, indicating that The University of
Tampa executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way and outperforms
most other charities in America.
“This ‘exceptional’
designation from Charity Navigator differentiates The University of
Tampa from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of
their trust,” Berger said.
Dan Gura, UT vice president for development and university relations, was pleased to receive the designation.
“There
are many measurements by which we define our success internally, but it
is high praise to receive the 4-star rating from an organization that
is comparing and evaluating thousands of charities throughout the
country,” Gura said.
