Get in the holiday spirit on Sunday, Dec. 4, at The University of Tampa’s annual holiday concert, Let Heaven and Nature Sing. There will be two performances, at 2 and 4 p.m., in the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. The program is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Doors open 30 minutes before the concert.

“This year’s program is perhaps the most varied and exciting,” said Ryan Hebert, director of choral studies, who will conduct UT’s Chamber Singers during the concert. “The students have worked very hard and have shown a lot of enthusiasm for these new works, as well as traditional holiday favorites.”

Rodney Shores, who joined the UT faculty last fall, will conduct the Camerata Singers, who will perform two movements from Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols accompanied by harpist Meredith Coffman. Pianist Grigorios Zamparas will perform a rousing Hanukah piece, Al Hanisim: For the Miracles, a piano solo with choral accompaniment.

The concert will also include a brass ensemble comprised of Aric Brian and Paul Landmeyer, trumpets; Richard Sparrow, horn; and Thomas McNair, trombone; and feature organist Haig Mardirosian.

The program includes seasonal music and readings, and the audience will have the opportunity to sing along with several selections, including O Come All Ye Faithful, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing and Joy to the World.

“I always look forward to this performance as it always brings so much good energy to our campus and ushers in a busy, yet festive holiday season,” said Hebert.
