UT Presents Annual Opera Scene Concert

The University of Tampa Opera Workshop and the UT Symphony Orchestra will present Gilbert and Sullivan, a family-friendly opera scene concert, on Friday, Nov. 12. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be held on campus in the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. The concert is free and open to the public. Masks will be required at all times.

Featuring student singers and the Symphony Orchestra, the performance will contain arias from the Victorian-era duo Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic operas, including The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, H.M.S. Pinafore and more.

The Voice Performance Workshop will be led by Hein Jung, professor of music. Jung specializes in opera, oratorio and recital. She has performed throughout the U.S. as well as internationally in South Korea, Canada and Spain.

The Symphony Orchestra will be under the baton of Susan Robinson, part-time music faculty. Robinson has conducted instrumental and vocal ensembles throughout the U.S. and Europe and has enjoyed much success as a music director in professional and educational theaters.
