UT Offers Full Lineup of Events for Homecoming 2015

Even though the palm trees are still swaying in the warm sea breezes, the signs that fall has reached Tampa are everywhere: pumpkins on front porches, less humidity in the air and The University of Tampa’s annual homecoming.From Oct. 23–25, the University will welcome back alumni with a full lineup events. Homecoming events are open to all UT alumni and students.Festivities will get underway on Friday, Oct. 23, with a President’s Reception at 6 p.m. on the East Verandah of Plant Hall, which includes complimentary cocktails and appetizers. Later that night, the Rathskellar will reopen as a bar for one night only at 8 p.m., offering beer, wine and snacks for $5 a person.On Saturday, Oct. 24, the class of 1965 will be inducted into the Golden Spartans Society, which includes alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago, during a lunch at noon in the Vaughn Center Crescent Club. The University will host a reception for the class of 1965 in the Vaughn Center Conference Room prior to the lunch at 11 a.m.Also on Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m. is the All Alumni Barbecue Lunch and Biergarten on the lawn of the Sykes College of Business, featuring a variety of craft beers on tap to sample and activities throughout the afternoon. Special guests at the barbecue will be the classes of 2010, 2005, 1995 and 1990. Complimentary craft beer and wine are included in the price, $20 per person.At 3:30 p.m. there will be a homecoming tailgate at Pepin Rood Stadium before the 7 p.m. men’s soccer game against Florida Tech.For students, festivities begin on Monday, Oct. 19, with a flag football tournament at 6 p.m. at the Intramural Field. Each day during the week includes special dress up themes. On Monday, students are encouraged to wear gear from their favorite sports team. Other student events include:

  • Friday, Oct. 23: Homecoming Concert featuring The Strive, 8 p.m., Vaughn Center courtyard (Super Hero/Villain)
