UT Fine Arts Adjunct Faculty to Show Their Work

Several members of The University of Tampa’s fine arts adjunct faculty will display their latest work in an exhibition at the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery from Oct. 5–27. An opening reception will be held Friday, Oct. 5, from 7–9 p.m.

The exhibition will include more than 30 works, including photography, painting, sculpture, digital images, drawings, installations and mixed media.

One of the artists, Brian Tortorelli, will show a mixed-media piece titled “Caged Life Withers,” which he describes as, “a visual example of what happens when life is contained and repressed beyond bearable conditions.” Tortorelli teaches classes at UT, the University of Central Florida and the International Academy of Design and Technology’s Orlando campus.

Another exhibiting artist, Jeanne Cameron, a graphic designer and professional artist, teaches at UT and Hillsborough Community College’s Ybor City campus. She works primarily in traditional oils, but due to her background in digital design, often works graphic elements into her pieces, as in one of the paintings she is showing, “Hummingbird Window.”

The gallery is located on campus at the R. K. Bailey Art Studios at 310 N. Blvd. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. There is no charge for admission.
