UT Chapter of Business Fraternity Honored at Conference

The University of Tampa’s chapter of the professional business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi was named the most outstanding chapter for the southern province at the Leadership and Excellence Academies for Deltasigs (LEAD) conference in Tampa in late October.

This designation places the UT chapter, Epsilon Rho, as one of the top five chapters in the country out of approximately 300.

The chapter was also recognized as the most improved chapter and the most outstanding chapter for the South Atlantic Region.

In addition, chapter advisor Jim Lee, UT assistant professor of marketing, was awarded the south Atlantic and southern province chapter advisor of the year.

Throughout the year, the UT chapter hosted numerous professional events, including programs with the University’s Office of Career Services. The chapter also participates in community service efforts and in campus programming.

Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.
