UT, ACLU Panel to Explore Voting Rights and Death Penalty on Sept. 23

Voting rights restoration and the death penalty will be the topics of a panel on Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. at The University of Tampa.

The panel, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Reeves Theater in the Vaughn Center.

Co-hosted by the American Civil Liberties Union and the UT Human Rights Think Tank, the panel will include:
  • Susan Brinkley, UT associate professor of criminology;
  • Marcus Arvan, UT assistant professor of philosophy;
  • Patricia Broussard, associate professor of law, Florida A&M University College of Law; and
  • Mark Elliott, executive director of Floridians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty.
Bruce Friesen, UT associate professor of sociology, will serve as moderator.
