The Fall Dance Happening at The University of Tampa on Oct. 23–26 will feature high energy dance partnering, an African dance in tribute to The Lion King, a ghost dance and lyrical dances about love, loss and hope. The show begins at 8 p.m. in Falk Theatre on Kennedy Boulevard and wends its way through campus to the East Verandah of Plant Hall.

“The Dance Happening is such a unique and exciting performance. With the wide range of work being presented, there is something for everyone,” said Susannah LeMarquand, assistant professor of dance and director of the Dance Happening.

Always a popular event on campus, the Fall Dance Happening will feature more than 80 student dancers from all sectors of the University community. The show will include new choreography by students and alumni in styles including hip hop, modern, lyrical, African and jazz.

“The Dance Happening is all about people doing what they love. It’s a great way for student dancers and choreographers to express themselves in a very supportive environment,” said senior Alyssa Fessett, a marine biology major and applied dance minor, who is choreographing her first dance at UT. “We have so much fun performing for our audiences. Everyone who attends the Dance Happening leaves with a big smile on their face.”
