Business Network Symposium Series Wraps up April 10

The final Business Network Symposium of the 2011-2012 academic year will be held Tuesday, April 10, at The University of Tampa. Speakers include Joy Gendusa, founder and CEO of PostcardMania; Gordon Tunstall, founder and president of Tunstall Consulting Inc; and John H. Armstrong, M.D., chief medical officer at the University of South Florida Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation.

The event begins with a continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m. and the program runs from 7:45-9 a.m. The symposium, which will be held on the 9th floor of the Vaughn Center on campus, is free and open to the public.

Gordon Tunstall is founder and president of Tunstall Consulting Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in the strategic development and capital formation of companies with high growth potential. The firm consistently raises more than $1 billion annually in growth financing. Tunstall is widely known as an expert on mergers, acquisitions, initial public offerings, corporate financial planning and financing for small- and medium-sized high-growth businesses.

John H. Armstrong, M.D., FACS is associate professor of surgery at the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine; surgical director of the USF Health ACS-Accredited Education Institute; and chief medical officer of the USF Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS). CAMLS brings together all forms of health professional education and training, for individuals and teams, within a 90,000-square-foot facility in downtown Tampa.

Joy Gendusa is the founder and CEO of PostcardMania, a direct mail marketing firm. Gendusa began PostcardMania in 1998 with no investment capital. Originally PostcardMania was a full-service postcard marketing company. Since then, it has expanded to offer its clients more services, including website and landing page design and development, email marketing and full marketing evaluations. In 2010, PostcardMania reached more than $19 million in annual revenue. The company now employs more than 190 people and has more than 45,000 customers in over 350 industries.

The Business Network Symposium is sponsored by The University of Tampa Board of Fellows, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, the Tampa Bay Business Journal and Sodexho Campus Services. The Board of Fellows holds this networking event three times a year to allow businesses that are well known, changing or new to the Tampa Bay area the opportunity to share their accomplishments and plans with the business community.
