Award-Winning Poet Anna Ross to Give Reading at UT Nov. 5

The University of Tampa will welcome poet Anna Ross on Tuesday, Nov. 5, as part of the 2013-2014 Writers at the University series. The reading will be held at 7 p.m. in the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery on campus and is free and open to the public.

Ross’ book of poetry, If a Storm, was selected for the 2012 Robert Dana-Anhinga Prize for Poetry. Her chapbook, Hawk Weather, won the New Women’s Voices Prize from Finishing Line Press and the Jean Pedrick Chapbook Award from the New England Poetry Club. Her poetry and criticism has appeared in The Paris Review, The New Republic, Southwest Review, Salamander, Barrow Street and Boston Review.

Ross teaches at Stonehill College, where she is Poet in Residence, and is a contributing editor in poetry for Guernica: A Magazine of Art & Politics. She has received fellowships from the Sewanee Writers' Conference, Grub Street, Inc., Fishtrap and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and her work has twice been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
