Heather Sellers, who received her doctoral degree in writing from Florida State University, is the author of the award-winning memoir, You Don’t Look Like Anyone I Know: a true story of family, face blindness, and forgiveness, an Oprah Book Club selection. She has published three volumes of poetry, a collection of linked short stories, Georgia Under Water, a children’s book and three books on the craft of writing. The Practice of Creative Writing, accompanied by an instructor’s manual, is in its second edition from Bedford St. Martins. She is a professor of creative writing at Hope College where she teaches fiction, poetry, nonfiction and linked short stories. In 2011, students voted her teacher of the year.
