The EDBA program admits candidates on a rolling basis, with cohorts starting yearly each fall semester.

The GMAT/GRE is not required for EDBA students.

4. Does the program accept transfer credits from other doctorate-level programs? | Back to top
The University of Tampa EDBA is a cohort-based program where candidates start their curriculum in the fall and matriculate through the program together until completion. Thus, doctorate-level program credit hours from other institutions cannot be accepted for UT’s EDBA.

5. How many credit hours are needed to graduate? | Back to top
For EDBA students, 64 credit hours are required for program completion.

6. How long is the program? | Back to top
The EDBA program will take candidates three academic years to complete, comprised of eight total semesters or 32 months.

7. Are all courses offered on the campus? | Back to top
Yes. Students will meet face-to-face, Friday, Saturday and Sunday during each weekend residency.

During the week, students can attend classes, complete coursework, and attend video conferencing sessions with their professors and classmates from home.

8. What times will on-campus residencies be held? | Back to top
The EDBA program residencies will be held on the following days and times –

  • Fridays from 4 to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with lunch provided
  • Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with breakfast and lunch provided

Yes, weekend residencies will be held in-person on UT’s main downtown Tampa campus, and the remainder of the EDBA coursework will be offered through video conferencing technology such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

11. How many years of professional business experience are needed for admission? | Back to top
Most qualified professionals will have 10 or more years of relevant working experience, as well as a master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

12. How many courses per semester can students take? | Back to top
EDBA students take two courses per semester. During the final two semesters of the EDBA program, candidates will enroll in dissertation credit hours.

13. Will provisional admission be granted if some of the admission requirements are not met? | Back to top
EBDA program applicants who do not completely satisfy the admission requirements can be considered for admission if they provide a compelling case in the applicant’s application.

14. What opportunities can the EDBA program offer me post-graduation? | Back to top
The EDBA curriculum is designed to provide graduates with the skills and credentials to enhance their career pursuits. EDBA graduates will have the opportunity to enter academia as university faculty or administrators, into management consultant roles or continue to lead their current organizations into other business opportunities.

No, graduate assistantships or fellowships are not currently available.

17. Once admitted, can I request a deferral to begin the program at a future term? | Back to top
Yes, once an EDBA applicant receives acceptance, they can defer starting the EDBA program until the following academic year.
