Megan Rada has experience teaching both marine science and biology labs and lectures as well as microbiology research, with a focus on the molecular components of marine and bacterial systems.
As a UT alumna, Rada is happy to be teaching at her alma matter. She previously taught biology labs at the University of South Florida and marine biology courses at the Duke University Marine Lab and the New College of Florida through Duke TIP.
In addition to teaching she has a passion for research. She has research experience in both marine molecular biology as well as microbiology. Her microbiology research at the University of South Florida focused on the triggers or inhibitors of sporulation in Bacillus subtilis, which information may be applicable for human health purposes relating to antibiotic resistance. She also has marine biology research experience in water quality and aquatics.
Rad is a member of various professional networking groups and is an avid scuba diver. She is always looking for more ways to get involved in the community with others with the same professional interests and research opportunities.
