Karl Petersen is interested in a general understanding of how physical and chemical properties of biological molecules contribute to biological function in cells and in organisms.
Petersen’s specific research has focused on the function of a class of molecular motor proteins (myosins) in generating mechanical force and in contributing to cell movement.
